Caroline Casey from Ardmore Park in Bray was a well known face at the Bray Cancer Support Centre before sadly losing her battle against cancer in August 1998. Caroline highly praised the work being carried out at the Bray Centre and even took part in the 1997 Women's Mini-Marathon on our behalf.
In order to mark his mother's 10th anniversary, Aidan Casey undertook to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain on the 7th April. Known in English as "The Way of St.James", the Camino is an 850km pilgrimage walk and by completing it, Aidan raised much needed funds for the Bray Cancer Support Centre.
Aidan's original goal was to raise a minimum of €3,000 for Bray Cancer Support but in the end he far exceeded this amount, a mark of Aidan's goodwill and popularity in the community and we are sure that his mother Caroline would be very proud. Aidan would like to highlight that all monies raised will go directly to the Centre and that he funded the entire cost of the trip himself.
At this point the Bray Cancer Support Centre would like to sincerely thank Aidan and all of those who supported his worthy endevour. You can view Aidan's online Camino walk page at:
