Run, Jog or Walk in the footsteps of the film stars by taking part in our 5 Mile Trail Run at the Belmont Demesne & Killruddery Estate in Bray Co. Wicklow on Saturday 28th June 2014 at 11am.

Family Walk:

Fun for all the family on the day, as there is also a 5KM Family Walk.

Hollywood Themed Post-race BBQ:

Following the race, there will be a Hollywood themed post race BBQ with music by Bray Gospel Choir in the walled garden of King Arthur’s Barn! There will also be face painting, music from your favourite films, movie characters, a pop up cinema, children’s activity trail & more.

Costumes on display from 3 time Emmy Award winner Joan Bergin! Joan has designed costumes for hit series such as Vikings & The Tudors.

Viking battle re-enactments and more!

The Route:

Our Film Trail Run will take in spectacular views of Belmont Demesne & Killruddery Estate!! The 5 Mile Run will be chip timed.

Starting from the Walled Garden of King Arthur’s barn, running through the silent bog wood & down through the deer park. As you get into your stride, the Lime Avenue will give you breathtaking views of Killruddery house and the long ponds.

The route then takes you up by the Middle Lodge (from the movie P.S I Love You), if you need a drink at this stage, the water spout has the most refreshing natural spring water!

You will then go through the mountain field before arriving back for the finish and post race BBQ at King Arthurs Barn, where there will be movies, popcorn, movie props and more!

A chance for you to relax, celebrate your achievements with your family and get your photo taken at our Wall of Fame!

Points to note:

– The Run & Family Walk take place on forest trails in a working farm, so please dress appropriately!
For the family walkers, wellies might be a good idea for the kids! Given the nature of forest trails, buggies would not be suitable on the walk, but are suitable at the BBQ and family events at King Arthur’s barn.

– NO DOGS ALLOWED – We don’t want to scare the livestock!

– Free onsite car parking available in Belmont Demesne.

FAQ:

We would like to highlight some points which will help make your preparation easier:

5 Mile Race Number Collection:
Pre-Registered: You can collect your race pack (which contains your race number & timing chip) from Amphibian King, Unit 1 Ravenhall, Upper Dargle Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow (Tel: 01 276 1524) at the following times:
Friday 27th June from 6pm-8pm ONLY
You can also collect your race pack on Saturday 28th June in Belmont Demesne from 9am-10am ONLY.

Only the 5Mile route will be chip timed.

On the day Registrations for both the 5 Mile Run & 5KM Walk (CASH ONLY):
Will take place in Belmont Demense on Saturday 28th June from 9am-10am only.

5 Mile Run: €30

5km Walk: €10 Individual or €25 for a family.

If you have pre-registered for the walk, you just need to arrive and park in time for the walk start at 11am.

If you have pre-registered for the run and have your race pack, you just need to arrive and park in time for the walk start at 11am.

NB: Do not enter through Killruddery Main Gates, follow the directions to Belmont Demesne below.

5KM Family Walk Registration:
On the day at Belmont Demesne from 9am-10am.

Directions to Belmont Demesne:

From M50 (Southbound)
1. Continue along the M50 southbound, which becomes the N11 southbound for Wexford
2. Take Exit 7 for Bray South.
3. At the roundabout take the third exit.
4. Then take the 2nd exit off the next roundabout, continue along the Southern Cross Road until you reach the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit right.
5. Continue along the Greystones Road (R751) and take the right turn for Belmont before you reach the top of the hill at Windgates. Continue along this road for about 1km and turn right into Belmont Demesne.

Car Parking:

There is free car parking beside the start/finish area. Please car pool if possible and use public transport. The no. 84 bus runs from Dublin and there is a bus stop at Windgates on Greystones Road, Belmont Demense is about 1km from the bus stop.

Changing & Toilet Facilities:
There are separate male and female changing facilities as well as toilet facilities.

Bag Drop:
There is a secure area for you to leave your bags while you take part in the race.

The Route:

VIP: 5 mile runners do the course 1 and a half times! It is your responsibility to ensure you know this!
5 Km walkers do the course once!

Please note that runners will be sharing the course with the walkers.
Walkers stay to the RIGHT of the course
Runners stay to the LEFT of the course.
Please also note that both routes takes place on forest trails so please expect uneven ground.
The family walk is not suitable for buggies, but buggies are welcome at the start/finish & family BBQ at King Arthur’s Barn.
NO DOGS allowed, we don’t want to scare the livestock as the event takes place on a working farm.
Above all dress for the weather!!
Race Start Time:
The 5 Mile Race starts at 11am sharp, please give yourself plenty of time to park and check-in.
The 5KM Family Walk starts just after the runners.
Safety & First Aid:
There will be a first aid station at the start/finish area. Bray Order of Malta will be present with an ambulance and first aiders around the course.
Spectators:
Spectators are welcome to come and watch the race and enjoy the post-race BBQ & family fun activities
In the interests of safety, please comply with the direction of the stewards.

Post-Race BBQ:
We are inviting everyone and your families and friends to come along and enjoy our Hollywood themed post-race BBQ in the walled garden of King Arthur’s Barn with a pop up Cinema, face painting, children’s activity trail, Viking battle displays, music from your favourite movies, props and costumes from the History Channel’s Vikings and music by Bray Gospel Choir!
There will be a charge for the BBQ, with all proceeds going to Bray Cancer Support Centre.
